Post-MAGS Update


Salutations all ye merry lovers of adventure!

Now that voting for the MAGS January competition is concluded (Skrexeval's Quest came in (shared) first place!) it's finally time for a well overdue patch!

Changes:

  • Fixed bug where right clicking on an inventory caused the game to crash. Somehow, I never did that while playtesting.
  • Fixed an exploit that allowed players to get infinite sacks of gold.
  • Extended several narrow hotspots that were previously easy to miss standing on.
  • Changed screen transitions to retain player's relative position (where applicable) rather than placing you at the middle of the room's edge.
  • Added a disclaimer to the walkthrough to clarify that you need to manually stop Skrexeval's walking if you want to perform precise movements (such as crossing a rickety bridge...) Simply letting go of the arrow keys is not enough to stop this eager lizard - not when he's on a quest!
  • Minor quality of life improvements. Don't worry though: the deliberately frustrating game and puzzle design is untouched. Only unintentionally frustrating elements have been changed.
